We gave it a try a couple of times.
Trouble was, although connection to FS Host was instant for all of us, adding Teamspeak to the mix added another complication and slowed the connection process down down waiting for Teamspeaker's to tune up!

Mind you, most of our flying just involved gentle touring and exploring the landscape in small GA Props, with a bit of typing (and spelling mistakes) in the Chat Window.... :D ...!

Simple fun.... B-) ...!

Chat Window Ianglish... :wink2: ...!

The very reason why you have one PC for the comm's and the other running the MP , done it for years now and it works superbly.

The reason for this is, we really need some fundamental data to be able to make future decisions, for example whether we need support for certain operating systems. Right now we have no idea how many people are still running TeamSpeak on no longer supported systems like XP or OS X 10.6.

Arrr :ye: here were go , ... when installing the new update, one is required now to scroll down to the bottom of the licences ..... this was after the cause fracow ...

What is the current state of play with Teamspeak? My bookmark for Ian just says "No Server". I know there was some hassle with his laptop being XP only, but on the various occasions I have tried to get in, there is nobody there at all...any ideas, anyone?

Yes, works fine but you need to use the same port forwarding in your modem as in FSX if you are hosting the session.

Aha. Right, I'll have to look into that and see if I can join in some time.
Having the time is the next challenge!
Cheers

Spent a large chunk of today trying to get FSHost installed, on SuperBeast (The Flying Machine), also FSHost Client on Minibeast (the one wot I fly the carriers on with the FSX Pilot autopilot)
D/loading FSHost Client just gives me the FSHost. I need to join my own MP hosted on Superbeast, with the carrier launched on MiniBeast, and fly a plane on SuperBeast.

I think I have opened Port80 but FSHost says it can't get through

Anyone got any ideas? :givein:

What we used to do, in the Olden Days, in FS 2004 and FSX, was to all agree beforehand to connect to one of the; "quiet", Chocolate; "FS Host Servers" from the list, and use them for our flying sessions!

It worked well, for most of the time, because the Servers are available 24/7!

Paul.... :D ...!

I must get back into this Multiplayer malarkey again, some time... :wink2: ...!

Ian, as we proved last year, I can join a session hosted by you, using the carrier on one machine and a plane on the other, no probs and still possible.
I can also have an MP on my LAN - nothing odd about that.
I would like to be able to host an MP on my main machine, which means that my second machine will have to connect via the internet, not by the LAN. I need to set my router to allow access from outside and that is where the problem is. :(

That would Ideal ... FS9 did not have an issue nor did the early FSX pre SP's , I did that running ATC as mention and a early carrier MP but the MS department went out off there way to stop the fun ! .. be interesting to see if these others Dovetail or P3D would return the fun to it ... but I would d'out it tho.
