Stealth simulation……and guilt

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Stealth simulation……and guilt

Postby cowpatz » Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:29 am

I managed to sneak in a very nice flight in the Cessna Longitude from CHC to ZQN.
I wasn’t supposed to be simming. In fact I had a somewhat lengthy “to do list” tasked to me by my beloved, and to be completed before the end of her work day. I threw caution to the wind and embarked on another essential flight, this time from ZQN to IVC (these corporate types can be demanding). During the descent into IVC everything was set up for an arrival and an RNP approach to runway 22. I’d just loaded up Coolguys new scenery so I was keen to check that out. There’s plenty of time to fit those less important things in I thought.
Then all hell broke loose. The automatic garage was opening and the dog started barking.
She’s home early!
Have you ever tried to shutdown MSFS, unclamp a Honeycomb Alpha control yoke and CH throttle quadrant from your desk (in a shared office space I might add) in hurried panic?
I almost got away with it.
In she came and looked at me. Probably with a surprised look on my face.
“What have you been up to?”
With the guilty “you’ve been caught” look on my face, it suddenly dawned on me that she may see things in a different way…..
“Have you been watching Porn?”
“No, um…..”
It was at that point that I was sort of saved by the team at Asobo.
Coming from the speakers was that elevator music that MSFS plays when on the menu page. It hadn’t completely shut down.
“ Oh god it’s worse, you’ve been flightsimming AGAIN, you were supposed to…………….”
And so started WWIII.

She's a keeper, alright:
Not only does she not mind you watching Donald Trump, she actually knows the theme tune to MSFS!

Classic Story... and sounds so familiar.

Why is it that females automatically assume you are watching porn when they surprise you on a computer?

We almost got a divorce over trying to buy her a Queen album as present on line as a surprise, I refused to tell her what I was doing... so she assumed the worst! (Okay I exaggerate a bit not divorce.. but a few tense days until the courier turned up)

My wife always said there where nervous clicks of the mouse when she walked past the office... I'm not sure what makes clicking on an icon a "nervous click"
