True on both counts. Extraordinary, and difficult to believe , but there's promise.

It's not really an Ironhorse problem... Railway stuff is expensive. New locos from Hornby are pushing $500, the value of which is up for debate. New Bachmann CL47 with all of the bells and whistles is up around £500... That's in OO but doesn't seem to get cheaper in smaller scales. The running gear (although expensive) I sort of understand, but some of those tiny N sale objects are over $50! Surely they could be made in China for a $1.50 and retail for $5? Rob's printer will pay for itself in no time.

It's a slow process: I get a trade magazine sent to me, which this month extolled its Green Virtue because the mailing wrapper, including address window, is now Fully Recyclable ! Thing is, it's available a week prior, online.

Charl, I think we have been down this path in the past, and I never tire of being given a chance to revive it, but this time you have done it. When does engineering become an art...easy, when it's a Ferrari, of course. As you mention, decades of design are manifested in this offering. LOOK at it !! Borders on Quantum thinking...a solid being fluid ...at the same time. Re the limited edition 1/8 scale model ...if I could I surely would.

Not sure what you refer to Subs sorry. It comes across as though somebody lost an Army, that is just my impression. So Orwellian and the more closed up and CONTROLLED a Society it is the less Happy they are. An unhappy Society always eventually turns against their oppressors. I hate the oppression in New Zealand, it is thoroughly disgusting.

Chopper Nut, Thanks for interesting answers. The funny thing is I cannot even remember the 20th century price of paint brushes used for painting model planes and model tanks. Regards, Aharon
