It's like ships do too... there's an order of magnitude between a rubber duck and and oil tanker but they both float!

Crazy to think that 8 years ago it was broken up. Probably Budwieser into cans. What I struggle to head my head around is how these were perfectly good airframes (nil defects) when they touched down on the completion of their last flights. Flyable one day and parts/scrap the next. The accountants always win in the end. Thanks for the screens of RR powered NBT. :groupwave:

Simon, Dash, and Deane ...thank you. Now I have a very sick Cat...what next. As hard as it sounds, I'm not taking him to the after-hours vet and they're extraordinary charges...or maybe I will if I can find him. He was here, but he's done a runner.

Celebrating my 87th Birthday on the 2nd of March 2021 on my motorcycle ride around my local countryside on a bitterly cold day! I intended to go for a long ride, but as the weather was so cold I cut the attempt short and took a shorter route, with frozen fingers! It was an enjoyable journey nevertheless, and I treated my self to a wonderful home-cooked Birthday Dinner when I got back home...together with a glass (or three) of some very nice wine! Paul.... :uk: ..... :D ...!

  I can make landings like that without any help from crosswinds :nahnah: Seriously though, I am sure the larger AFS2 jets can do that - this is from the IPACS forum "The advanced autopilot in the airliners uses the track and thus can easily account for crosswind conditions. The a320, b777 and b747 should be able to autoland even in crosswind." I’m sure there’s limitations in terms of crosswinds etc for autoland. For us in the ATR we hand fly at least the last 500ft if not earlier.
