Hi Guys, I'm just about to sit my cpl air law (helicopter) exam in a week. I've read through pretty much all the legislation - rules and AIP - and the only thing that is missing is doing some practice exams. Waypoints will have some mock exams available in a month or so but that's a bit late for me. Does anyone have some copies of prac exams (and answers if you have them) sitting around? I'd be soooooooo appreciative. Post or a reply or private message if you can help me out? I've been flying for a while overseas and know so well how exams are half about exam technique - and how well prac...

QUOTE (towerguy @ Jan 10 2009, 01:32 AM) I think it would be pretty close to say that if it comes from ATC either written or verbal then its magnetic and if it comes from MET then it's mostly bullsh!t ... er True. Exactly, very good way of summing up the NZ MET system /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Airways always seems to get it right /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

I knew a couple of Air Force guys that went to the Kaman factory in the early stages of getting the Seasprites. At the time they were developing the K-Max and were having lots of problems with the blades which was hindering test flying progress. Charles Kaman told the engineers to go back to the older wooden blade construction used on the Husky, so the blades have got wooden spars!

At least the crew did not have to snuggle into a window recess which was (a) barely above shoulder height and (b) hardly deep enuff to get an ear into. YBBN - YSSY is just a bus ride, and the best bus ever was a Virgin Embraer 190

Flyingkiwi, Thanks so much for your answers. It utterly amazes me that you manage to identify two local airports!!! Blew my mind!!! Radar88, Thank you so much for cool explanatons, hyperlinks, and the photo of the same airport terminal. Flyingkiwi and Radar88, Surprised me that film studio would pick two airports in North Island instead of either of 2 airports in the area of Sounds especially the tv show shows so many amazing scenes of towns, wharfs, beaches, water areas, and restaurants in the Sounds area but would be foolish enough to pick 2 airports in North Island!!!!! Comparing The...

Speaking of the BRISTOL FREIGHTER .... the NZ aircraft operated in particular. Anyone remember "THIS" .... THE RESCURE (movie clip) It's a clip from the movie "THE RESCUE" .... "THE RESCUE" .... the aviation segments of which were filmed "in NZ", both around Queenstown (due to the local geography there resembling that of North Korea which this fictional movie was intended to represent), and at RNZAF WPE, at AKL, where the landing segment/end scenes were all filmed. I was "fortunate" in that I was accommodated onto the set at RNZAF base WPE for...

Mystery Of UTA 737 Aircrafts SOLVED Radar88, Thanks a zillion zillion zillion for your AMAZING answers and for solving the baffling mystery of use of 737-200s for UTA.       I have confession for you. I had suspicions that it would be Air Nauru but I had to rule it out because I thought Air Nauru being very very very tiny airline would not dare to be able to spare a single plane for other airlines hence me asking here for help and I am glad you solved the baffling mystery. My guess was on Hawaiian airline leasing one of 737-200s to UTA....

As I recall .... the RNZAF "pranged" a couple of their BRISTOL's. Here's a report concerning the CFIT "prang" near Blenhiem of NZ5908 during 1953 .... .... and a report coverning the NZ5901 which we pranged whilst supply dropping in Malaysia during 1954 .... SAFE AIR "broke" one too .... ZK-AYH .... near Christchurch during 1957 (this particular accident uncovered a maintenance/spar concern for all BRISTOL FREIGHTER's worlwide at the time) as per the following-liked report and other reflection .... SAFE also operated another BRISTOL .... ZK-AYG (the unlucky ship)...
