Yep, voice usually uses between 9 and 20 kilobits (8 bits in a byte) depending on how the software is configured. Alex

Sorry I couldn't make it in the end on Sat night Jimmy, the plan was for my kids to be picked up but I had to take them in the end and got waylaid. BTW I am thinking about getting ready for next years RTW (Round The World) race between Avsim, Flightsim.com and Sim Outhouse that is held starting the 1st Sunday after Valentines day (Mon Morn for us) and took 5 days last year but will most likely be a bit quicker this year. Each pilot flies a leg of no more than 2 hours at a time. You must fly a prop plane, the ATR is a favourite, I also like the freeware P38 by David Copley. I fly for...

FSHost can be set to cater for FS2004 and FS2002 players. You set which versions you want to support when you start the server. The latest FSHost version (3.2 beta 1) offers FSX connectability via the FSHost client Brock mentions. I'm not sure the version 3 server does - perhaps Brock could try connecting to Inspire and see. The weekend's server is not permanent I'm afraid, it used close about 600 megs of traffic up and down (FS and TS) and if left on all the time would mean that: 1. I would go over 10 gigs and pay more for my internet (I'm on Telstra's PDQ at $11.95 per 10 gigs, have full speed upand downstream - so it's not an unlimited plan) 2. The internet use at home would be disavantaged (traffic could affect other applications and gaming etc) My feeling is that the best compromise would be to use Inspire for Flight Sim and perhaps see whether Robin's Teamspeak server would be...

This is probably not the thread to discuss the relative merits of the different systems. They all offer something different, and as mentioned, it's best to go with what is comfortable for you . I wouldn't say any system was 'better' or 'worse' than any other, for that reason alone.
