Two of our NZFF members who use cannot access the forums via TelstraClear.

There is two possible reasons for this- 1) Telstra is blocking access (unlikely) or 2) it's an issue with Invision.

One member with this issue, ZK-MAT was able to connect via his laptop through a FreeNet dial up account it accesses fine.

Anyone know what the problem would be, or even better, a solution?

I have checked through the Invasionfree control panel and found nothing that would be blocking their access... sad.gif

It's a right pain in the a$$. It just fails to load the pages, no timeout, just a blank page. It's not only this forum but any invisionfree sites.

I've emailed Telstra, and phoned them. I haven't had an email response yet, but the guy at their helpdesk suggested it wasn't Telstra blocking access, and they cannot tell any website to accept any particular IP, as whoever runs a forum etc has the right to accept or deny access. I agree with them there.

I wonder if it's due to Invision seeing the IP block as a 'Bogon' IP range. This usually happens when a new IP range is released and not all services recognise it as legit. It happened when UBS / Bitstream was released, some Bitstream users couldn't access some sites. I have raised this in my email.

I am aware that Chris J (Pieman) and Chris D are Telstra clients, and know
that Pieman cannot access here, I haven't spoken to Chris D but will text him tomorrow to see how he's going.

I am getting around it using a proxy IP server that makes my IP address look like something different but it's a nuisance doing that just for this site. sad.gif I can connect thru dial-up (aaarrrrggggggghhhh) using FreeNet but that is just stupid (and only my laptop has a dial up modem, the main PC wouldn't know what dial up is!)

Anyhow, any help would be appreciated smile.gif

Hmm, this is with PDQ? Damn, we're changing to that at the end of this cycle.

Find a solution quick!
