The other day I D/L the Alpha Sim Free P51 and Spitfire.
Zipped them into my FS9 Aircraft folder and then went on to fly them. Today they are not there. Still in the aircraft folder though. So re Zipped and over wrote old ones. Went to fly and still not there. Help required. Also same issue on the RNZAF C130 which I put in at same time. Same problem.
Thanks in advance,
Adrian.

Perhaps you restored your computer?
This eats certain files
So just check you have an aircraft.cfg file in the relevant folder.
Then, open it and look for
ui_manufacturer=ALPHA
ui_type=blahblah
ui_variation=yadayada
so you can confirm you are looking for ALPHA in the sim

Then make sure there is a .air file in the aircraft folder, and finally, a model.cfg file in the /model folder

Thanks Charl.
You were right in the files missing.
Even after I re zipped them they were not installed. I then opened the zip in a seperate file and the c.figs etc were there. Go figure. So just dragged and dropped into the Aircraft file and hay presto all fine now. Thanks for your help.
Adrian.

Glad you're sorted...I did a System Restore this morning, and I see all these orphan aircraft folders, too.
Luckily I back up fairly regularly to an external drive, and so just plop them back in.
